CBD FAQs and Learning
Is CBD an effective healing agent?
Can’t say yay or nay according to the FDA! However, we love our friends to the north so here is what a respected Canadian study says:
Canabidiol Use and Effectiveness: real-world evidence from a Canadian medical cannabis clinic
Historically, there is evidence that cannabis has been used for healing and pain management since 2700 BCE in China, 1500 BCE in Egypt, 1000 BCE in India and 8th Century Greece. Impediments based in racism have inhibited Western medicine’s understanding of the medicial properties of marijuana and hemp. I guess we are still battling reefer madness.
What is the 2018 Farm Bill?
This is the bill that made hemp-derived CBD (containing 0.3% or less Delta 9 THC) legal in all 50 States. The FDA regulates CBD. Here’s more light reading:
FDA: Hemp Production and the 2018 Farm Bill
CBD, CBG, CBN, etc. - Cannabidiol
On a basic level: Cannabidol or CBD is derived from the hemp (vs. marijuana) plant and has negligible traces of THC (psychoactive component in marijuana), but hemp-derived products are much, much more complex than that. They can also contain Cannabigerol (CBG), Cannabinol (CBN), etc. More research must be done, but here’s a taste of the the potential (don’t want to piss off the FDA!) power of cannabinoids:
CBG may have apoptosis (cause cell death) properties which helps when combatting cancer.
CBN may help with sleep.
Ooo, very exciting stuff.
Full and Broad Spectrum, Terpenes, Flavinoids and the Entourage Effect
We use both Full and Broad spectrum CBD in our products. Please review the product ingredient list to determine if full or broad spectrum CBD is used.
Full Spectrum contains trace amounts of THC (less than .3% - you are so NOT going to get high). Full spectrum contains:
Complex Flavinoids are a type of polyphenol that gives color to fruit, veggies, plants which also have anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties.
Terpenes are aromatics that give CBD its smell and enhances therapeutic effects of CBD.
CBD, flavinoids, and terpenes work together synergistically. This is called the Entourage Effect which simply means that all these components work together to provide enhanced therapeutic benefits.
Broad Spectrum is CBD with much of the trace THC removed. This process also removes flavinoids and terpenes which minimizes the entourage effect available with full spectrum CBD but unlike CBD Isolate, still contains some flavinoids and terpenes. So, yes, the entourage effect is there…just not as powerful.

No, but we wish we were. We’re just curious makers.

for your CBD journey
We would love to create CBD information videos, but there’s already a ton of content available on the Internet universe. Instead, we have curated the material that has boosted our understanding of CBD and other hemp-derviced cannabinoids.
I’m especially fond of Dr. Jack’s videos, a anesthesiolgist who specializes in pain management. Here’s a list of his short and awesome CBD videos.
